There’s nothing like impressing a bunch of people with homemade jams! Especially when you have the unconventional fruits to impress with! Here is a jam, that is seasonal, but once made can be stored for a long while! … Fig Jam! It’s sticky, sweet and delicious!
Here’s how you make it!
INGREDIENTS :
- 2 cups of figs
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 tbsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla bean paste
- 1/4 cup water
METHOD :
- Slice your figs and out into a medium sized saucepan, along with all the other ingredients.
- Heat on high until the sugar is dissolved, then turn the heat onto low for about an hour, and while simmering keep stirring.
- Once the texture becomes a thick stocky dark mixture, take off the heat.
- Then using a potato masher or a hand mixer, blend/press together everything in the saucepan until smooth. Pour into your jam jar and keep in the fridge until ready to be eaten!
YUM!
My dad loves fig, so I will have to make this for him! Following your blog for more recipes 🙂 I recently baked lemon bars and they were fantastic, so I highly recommend checking the recipe out
