Theres nothing like whipping up a great breakfast! Especially on a lazy sunday. Here are my simple 5-minute almond scones, which you can of course add any flavour to. They are simple, quick, very yummy, and super perfect to bake on a lazy day!
Here’s how you bake them!
INGREDIENTS:
For the Scones-
- 360g Cups Flour
- 50g Sugar
- 1 tbsp Baking Powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 300ml Cups Heavy Cream
- 100ml Almond milk
- 2 tsp Almond Extract (or your choice of flavoring)
For The Glaze-
- 120g Icing Sugar
- 1-2 tbsp Milk (preferably almond milk)
- 3/4 tsp Almond Extract (not necessary, but a nice touch)
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 3 tbsp Sliced Almonds
METHOD:
-
Preheat oven to 200C and place a rack in the center of the oven. Line baking sheet with baking paper, set a side.
-
In a large bowl, place the flour, baking powder and salt and pour in the cream, almond milk, and extract. Mix well with a wooden spoon.
-
Place the dough on a lightly floured surface and gently knead it with you hand a few times. Just until the dough comes together.
-
Divind the dough into two, and shape each part into 4”-6” sized disk (depending on the desize size.)
-
Cut each disk into 4, 6 or 8 pieces and brush with some heavy cream.
-
Bake for 20-25 minutes. If time permits, allow to cool before glazing.
-
When ready to glaze, mix the glaze ingredients together until smooth and drizzle the scones. Sprinkle with sliced almonds.
Enjoy!
