Its nearly Waffle day in Sweden (tomorrow March 25th) and I’ve been looking forward to it as I love waffles!!! And as I absolutely LOVE chocolate I thought I’d make some scrumptious chocolate waffles!
Again a super easy peasy recipe which will have your family and friends asking you for more!!! 😎😁
Here’s how you make it!

INGREDIENTS:
- 210g (1 1/2 cups) flour
- 150g (3/4 cup) sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 50g (1/2 cup) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 237ml (1 cup) milk
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 5 tablespoons melted butter, slightly cooled
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
- 150g chocolate chips or chopped chocolate
METHOD :
- In the bowl of a stand mixer (or with a hand held mixer), add the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. Mix well.
- Add in the wet ingredients: milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until all ingredients are fully incorporated. The Belgian waffle batter will be thick. Add in the chocolate chips and mix again briefly.
-
Pour the batter onto your hot waffle iron and cook according to manufacturer’s directions – mine basically has a setting for color – so if I set it to brown then the light switches off – roughly 5-7 min.
-
Serve immediately with butter, syrup, powdered sugar, chocolate ganache or any other favorite toppings.
Enjoy!
